Celebrating the Retirement of David Pace

After more than three decades in the funds management industry – including 19 remarkable years as a co-founder of Greencape Capital – David Pace has announced his retirement. Known fondly by many as “Pacey,” he began his career in 1993 and went on to co-found Greencape in 2006 alongside Matthew Ryland and Marc Hester. He has played a pivotal role in building the firm into a $15 billion asset manager known for delivering consistent, long-term alpha for Australian investors.

A visionary leader, Pacey championed a collaborative and team-based culture that has defined Greencape’s investment approach and underpinned a thoughtful succession plan, including the appointment of Jonathan Koh as Co-Portfolio Manager of the High Conviction Fund in 2019. This structured approach has been mirrored across other strategies, ensuring continuity for clients and development for senior investors. With strong succession plans in place and a deeply experienced investment team, Greencape remains well positioned to continue delivering long-term, consistent outcomes for our clients.
